Who is Dr. Pradeep Pandey?
Dr. Pradeep Pandey was born in the most beautiful district of Nepal, Syangja, in Gandaki Province. In fifth grade, he shifted with his family to Kathmandu. Thereafter, he did his MBBS at Kathmandu Medical College at Sinamangal Kathmandu.
An enthusiastic and probing scholar of the human mind, Dr. Pandey acquired a Master’s degree in Neuropsychiatry at Tribhuvan University. However, he continued to thirst for knowledge. He duly added to his expertise with a one-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Counseling (PGDP) from Tri Chandra College, where he again won the gold medal for excellence.
His dedication to medicine took him beyond Nepal when he trained in Neurology under the guidance of Prof. A.K. Thakkar at BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur, India. Back home, during his residency, Dr. Pandey shared his knowledge with the world, presenting several scientific papers and even delving deep into Alcohol Dependence Syndrome for his thesis.
An active member of the Psychiatry Association of Nepal and Nepal Medical Association, Dr. Pandey also lends his time to the Rotary Club of Kathmandu, giving back to the community he serves. His philanthropy and compassion matter even more to Dr. Pandey than science and awards. The most remarkable proud moment for him was when he made an inspiring difference in Dhading, Nepal, for a patient who had been suffering from schizophrenia for 10 years of treatment. With Panas Pharmaceuticals, he treated that patient, and he recovered from his treatment.
For Dr. Pandey, it is not only about academics but also about a long story of how he transformed many lives of people who had suffered from mental health issues with compassion and dedication to making somebody’s life better.
